What if you could experience Korean Thanksgiving without leaving Manila? At OORI in Sheraton Manila, Chuseok came to life through a festive lineup of traditional activities : from wearing hanbok , choosing dalgona to learning maedeup , playing doakji and taking part in a Korean word challenge, before ending with an unlimited K-BBQ feast.
Often called Korean Thanksgiving, Chuseok is one of Korea’s most cherished holidays, centered on family, gratitude and good food. OORI brought that spirit to life today during its September 25 festival, offering a lively cultural experience right in the heart of Manila.
We registered at 4:30 PM, received our activity cards and began the afternoon’s lineup:
A Hands-On Korean Cultural Experience

The activities offered a fun introduction to Korean traditions, from colorful hanbok photos and creative flower arranging to the patience required for maedeup. Dalgona added a playful Squid Game-inspired touch, while the Korean word challenge brought an interactive language element to the experience.
From Hanbok to K-BBQ
After completing the activities, we headed to our table with a grill for unlimited K-BBQ. Sizzling meats, smoky aromas and shared-table dining made for a satisfying finale to the evening .
The September 25 package combined cultural activities with a generous Korean feast, bringing together creativity, camaraderie and good food.
